I went to TRU today where they had a sign up saying you can get a free Kre-O figure with the purchase of any Deluxe Transformers or building toy. The toy I got was the Matrix Optimus Prime.

Now, I was looking at the comments, and the TRU option isn't listed, but then I notice that there is a list of "Exlusively Available From" which lists 3 places. Since all three of those are US based (even if we add TRU), wouldn't that mean this item is not really exclusive anymore? I do already realise that the item itself isn't flagged as an exclusive item.
Why wouldn't it be an exclusive? It's not like you could stroll into Walmart or Target to buy one, or for that matter, TRU at any other time not during this promo. :) It's an exclusive, just not a very limited one.
The reason why its not listed as an exclusive in the toyline header is that there's nothing to counterbalance it that wouldn't appear clunky. We'd have Kre-O > exclusive for one toy and be forced to come up with a cheesy "Kre-O > Mass release" (or something similar) subcategory for the other 13 items to counterbalance the exclusive subcategory.

Yep, I read about the Kmart finding and updated the record to reflect the change. I didn't locate the Target sighting yet. Some exclusive, huh? :)

No sorry, nothing about Target. Someone posted about buying the regular Kre-O Optimus Prime at Target in the midst of people talking about the Matrix Kre-On at KMart.
I can't believe they made so many!
