Bugs? On www.shmax.com? Ha ha, you kill me... / Re: Front Page Login
September 13, 2009, 01:26:10 AM
Hey. Late reply, but, it was the Soundwave banner throwing off the browser. It went over the login fields. Now, the login fields appear below the Soundwave banner.
So yeah, it was just the banner.

Bugs? On www.shmax.com? Ha ha, you kill me... / [RESOLVED]Front Page Login
September 02, 2009, 03:14:18 PM
One has to go to the forum to login now. Hitting the login button, at least in Opera, takes you to the same pic on the front page w/the Soundwave for the contest, but doesn't give you the name/pw fields to login with.

Feature Requests/Announcements / Date Suggestion/Advanced Search
August 21, 2009, 08:57:02 PM
Can the Date field be changed slightly, so the search to field defaults to the latest possible date? I hate having to enter my search, forget about the damn date field being set to Jan 1 1920 for both, and having to set the dates to Jan 1 1920 to Jan 1 2010. Gotta do the search twice when I forget about the date.

Feature Requests/Announcements / Individual Micromasters?
July 17, 2009, 02:04:23 PM
Recently, I got a few Micromasters not part of their entire team. Eagle Eye, Skyhigh and Night Flight. Is there a way to add JUST that one single Micromaster to the collection, without adding the rest of the team to it? If so, how? If not...why not?

Bugs? On www.shmax.com? Ha ha, you kill me... / [RESOLVED]Unreliable Count?
February 26, 2009, 03:16:19 PM
The other day, I had 1,014 items in my 'content' area of my collection. I added 3 more TFs today (one w/Mini-con, so 4). I should have 1,018 items in the Contents area now right?
It reads 1,002 now for some reason. Did something happen? Did some entries in the DB get erased?

General Transformers Discussion / Some basic questions
December 09, 2008, 11:41:57 PM
Okay, went to the dynamic sig to see me "stats". Got some questions...
I'm only #28? I was #15. Darn you guys!
But more seriously: How is the value determined? Cause, at one point, my collection was supposedly worth about $15k, and now it's barely pushing $3600, and I know I've only been ADDING to it lately. Also, my most expensive figure, assuming everything was MISB, goes from Shockwave at 3500 down to the two Decepticon cassette combiners at $199? That sounds odd.
So yeah, don't get how the values field(s) are determined, was wondering for some clarification on them.

Feature Requests/Announcements / Re: Super Awesome Catalog Idea (And a bonus idea)
December 08, 2008, 08:12:19 PM
Chaotic has my intent yeah. Just different display options. The checkmarks can sometimes be hard to notice. A catalog style makes things easier to see. You need the ones that aren't greyed out (or boxed or circled or X'ed out, whatever the graphics are). WIth the shelf/cover view, you see what you got in a nice display.
My intent for them also wouldn't just be for the user in question. My intent would be to have them share-able. Cool graphics to slap onto one's own personal website, shared on forums, and so on. The sig is a nice way to share what you got, but it's all text and numbers. Being able to share nice looking pictures? That makes a person's collection somehow more -real- y'know?
I dunno how to implement the idea however. I just know I think it'd be a great one, if it's somehow possible.

Feature Requests/Announcements / Super Awesome Catalog Idea (And a bonus idea)
December 07, 2008, 08:33:09 PM
Remember those old catalogs that came in the toy boxes back in the day? That had all the guys for that year, with checkmarks and all?
We should totally do that, but, the schmax way.
Grab the old catalog scans, or take pics of the toys in new style. Slap 'em up, one for every year (well, and each faction, for the larger years).
But wait, we can do better! This'll take someone w/flash experience I'm sure, or something, but...have each person have their own personal catalog, in their user area. And the toys that they DO have, get 'marked off'. Grey them out, have them circled, boxed, something, somehow differentiating the ones owned from the ones not yet owned.
Tell me that wouldn't be a cool thing to show around, huh? People's personal websites could even have a page for just "My schmax collection catalog style!" or something.
As to the bonus idea, something akin to it. I've said before about librarything.com, and how they have some great ideas that can be implemented here. But one I really like that they have is a 'cover view' look. You input what books you have, and if you choose 'cover view', it shows them all (maybe 100 per page or some other limit), by their covers. We can do something like that here. Have a 'package view' to the 'your collection' area that's slightly different than what we got now. Basically instead of going down in a line, have rows and columns, and smaller package pics perhaps, so it looks like the toys are sitting on a shelf, y'know? Basically, same thing we got now, just a different look style, and less information. Just so we can 'ooooh' and 'ahhhh' at our own collections nicer.
Though, being able to share that view w/others might be cool too.

Feature Requests/Announcements / Searchy Thingy Idea(y)
December 07, 2008, 07:35:58 PM
Dunno if this is currently possible with the last batch of search upgrades or not, or possible with minor tweaks, but, here's an idea...
Cybertron toys are pretty good, and are a big part of the Universe toyline. But, there's a good amount in the Movie packaging! Those dirty cheaters!
Plus there's all the Armada repaints in Energon, and Energon repaints in Cybertron, and Armada repaints in Cybertron, and so on...
So my question/idea is: Can it be possible to search for molds originating in other toylines within a different toyline's search parameters? IE, can I go to the Movie search, and look for just molds that originated from Cybertron? Or go to Universe (2003) and look for Armada molds? Etc.

I'll do my best!
My browser is Opera 9. If there's any dots and half versions and whatever, I'm not sure of those.
Cookies are set to 'Accept'. Security is at minimal levels (in fact, I don't think it's on at all).
Exact steps? Well uh...I look up stuff here for a bit, leave it sit. I use Opera cause I love tabbed browsing, so, I let a tab stay open while doing other stuff. Usually I'm inputting new stuff to my collection. Anyway, if I let it sit idle for more than a period of time (i'm not sure exactly how long, however) then when I return, I'll have to log in again. I come back, it still shows my name up top, I'll say, search for Silverstreak (got the Classics last night). Find the one I got, and it'll say "Please register/login" with that pop up tooltip thingy. Sometimes I'll notice that my account info (Dynamic Sig, Your Collection, Your Wanted, etc) links aren't up so login before trying to click 'I Own It' on a new guy, but the difference lies only in the fact that if I notice my account stuff's not up, I just don't get to the point where the tooltip pops up. And if not, I'll get the tooltip saying to login. No big. So, I go login on the main site, and search for my guy(s) again, click the own it boxes, and, do nothing else when I'm done inputting newcomers. Just let it sit in a tab while I do other things.
Dunno if that's helpful enough or not, but, I can't think of anything else at the moment. Besides, like I said, I used to be able to be on forever w/o being logged off or needing to log in again. Though I'm guessing this started sometime in, approximately, the last week, since my original post to this thread? If that helps you narrow changes down, I'd say that perhaps something within a week or so before I mentioned it...say, since October 1st, that might be a good time area to search for changes that might have influenced it perhaps.

Hmm. Well, I guess I'll have to look into it. Can I have some details?
1. browser, version
2. browser cookie/security setting, if available
3. exact steps to reproduce behavior, providing links where possible
Thanks much!Quote from: "Transfotaku"Quote from: "engledogg"Exactly the same thing happened to me. I dunno if this is really a 'bug' or not, but, I'll post it anyway.
When I first came here, I was able to have my connection here last for, well, weeks. I had a tab open in my web browser for at least a week or so, and I was always connected on here (or, my account was active I should say), so when I picked up new stuff, I could just put it all in easily.
Now after 'some duration of time' (I don't know exactly how long) of being idle, it seems I get logged off and have to re-login to put in new stuff. Why just today, just a few hours (4 or so) ago I was on here looking up stuff on my collection and had to login again. Then just several minutes ago after a small toy run I had to login again to input my newest guys obtained.
Like I said, dunno if you changed it so it bumps people off after a time, or if it's something else, but, I liked the old way of staying logged on indefinitely. <!-- s;) --><!-- s;) -->
