Folks, I'm pleased to announce that www.shmax.com has officially relocated its offices to Kyoto, Japan. Of course, by "www.shmax.com" I mean me, and by "offices" I mean two duffel bags and a laptop. But "Kyoto" means Kyoto. Even now I'm writing this in a "monthly mansion" (by "mansion" they mean a room smaller than what the Apollo astronauts had), lying in a bed that was apparently designed for use by Hobbits. What does this mean for the site, you ask? Well, I don't know. As long as my laptop battery holds out I'm still on the job, but after that there will be a period of uncertainty where I sit around arguing with myself over whether it's safe to try one of the wall outlets, or not. Time will tell! In the meantime, if there's anything Transformers-y and Japanese-y you'd like me to look into, or add to the site, you need only ask.

Mata ne!

The weather? Well, this week's forecast is mostly sunny with only a 10 percent chance of giant lizard attacks.

I have no idea what you're talking about, Tecster, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I'll take your word for it. If it's not in Kyoto, then no, I probably haven't been anywhere near it. I did go to Nipponbashi in Osaka yesterday, and went in no less than 5 different toy stores devoted entirely to giant robots. Mmmm, giant robots...
