Today's photo is a shot of Ghost Starscream, and--one moment, I've just been informed that this is not Ghost Starscream. Well, what is it? Trans-Dimensional Weirdness Starscream? Black 'n White 'n Red 'n Blue Starscream? I guess I don't know, but somehow it appeals to me. Spliffdizzle snuck it into the submission queue a few days ago, and--ah, this just in. I'm told that this is a "3-D" image of Classics Starscream, produced using 50's technology. My god, Spliffdizzle has not only mastered photography, but he's mastered time travel! Hey, maybe we can get him to go back to last week and pick us up some more Windchargers!

It's actually pretty easy once you learn the steps. I followed this tutorial here:

Basically, take two pics of the same thing, with a slightly shifted camera position, then merge the "right eye" image into the blue & green channels of the "left eye" image, and then move the red channel of the "left eye" image to align whatever focal point you want to be in the center of the depth of field of the 3d image.

I was inspired by the 3d glasses that come with the preview Prime figure for DotM, and from a 3d video I saw made using two GoPro cameras. I know the tech is seriously old news but it's still pretty nifty
