Just wanted to let you guys know that even though I haven't posted any updates in weeks, the gears are turning, and the javascript work I'm doing is progressing nicely. For those of you following along at home, I've decided to replace the three different javascript frameworks in use on the site (JQuery, Mootools, YUI) with one (google Closure, which was threatening to become the fourth). Unfortunately, it means I had to rewrite pretty much everything.

I've got about 90 percent of the work done, now. I figure with testing, I'll have everything done, tested, and ready to go in either next weekend or the one after.

Then I'll get back to the fun stuff.

Update on the lack of an update:

The code is all done, but I still have to figure out how to get the google "compiler" working and serve the files properly. This process was slowed by a combination of not really knowing what I'm doing and foolishly getting involved in the first two "Yakuza" games (yes, on the PS2). The good news is that I finally beat both games, and have a pretty good idea of what to do next with the compiler, so there's not too much holding me back now. Oh, except for the new computer that just arrived. I probably should have finished up the coding work before transitioning to a new machine, but the heart wants what it wants. Shouldn't be long before I get back into the swing of things...
