A lot of people think that the Tranformers line of toys got their start in 1984, but with this photo of Black Rorichi, Highprime provides incontrovertible proof that they date back to at least the 70's. There's no mistaking the sparkly gold paint, the groovy roller-disco wheels, or even the dance moves. Details on the rest of the toys from this era are a bit hard to come by, but I did manage to dig up this photo of Unicron.

This shot kind of reminds me of a certain admin around here for some reason.  Maybe it's the stiff arms and static pose. I'm thinking most of his day is spent in this exact stance, lol ;)

Ha! Took me a minute to figure out where this was going!

Either way, getting a picture of this item is a treat indeed, since we all should know what disease Black Zarak has.  :|

Fortunately (I think??) for shmax, the D-311 I own is fresh as a baby's powered behind.  From box, to 'bot, to label sheet.  There will be more to come.  However, right now, I am sitting on 500-600 unprocessed photos.  I've been busy snapping as many shots as I can whilst selling off large portions of my collection.  So, it might be a while before I get this set completed.  It will happen, though :)

EDIT:  Just checked... I'm actually sitting on nearly 1,500 photos.  After processing that number is likely around 800, I imagine.
