An 'easy' request?? - groups/categories for Wishlist and Collection

Compared to some of my other feature requests, I think this is 'easy' :(.

The concept is simple - in your profile you can create as many 'collection groups or categories' as well as 'wishlist groups or categories'. When adding an item to your collection, you have the option of selecting a group/category you created. For instance, you can break up your collection, by saying some of it is with your child. You can also break it up by saying some figures are located in this area of your house or this box - however you want.

The same with your wishlist. You can create your "Must Have", your "Holy Grail", your "only on Super-Sale" wishlists.

The Default category can be renamed to make it easier when the feature is implemented.
When a Group/Category is deleted, all items in there would be moved to the default.

When browsing your collection or wishlist, you have the option of selecting your category or group.

I hope I'm not the only one who thinks this is a good idea... because I would really benefit from it (especially since I don't really use the wishlist feature for this lacking functionality I need).

I would like something like that as well. I would really like to sort my wishlist in that manner.

Holy cow, that's your idea of 'easy'?! 'Easy' is fixing a typo, or adjusting some CSS. You must think I am some kind of super nuclear-powered coding machine sent back from the future. But seriously, it sounds like what you want is a "tagging" system, with the idea that you could 'tag' a collected item with "In Attic", "Gift from Grandma", or "Stolen from Orphanage", then click on any of those tags and see all such tagged items. Something like that?

We actually already have something like that for the part records (the "Subgroup" widget), so I suppose it could be spruced-up a bit and applied to the collection UI.

But 'easy'? Well...

Lol. Yeah easy isn't necessarily the word I would have used. I personally am more interested in the wishlist.
I'm cool with adding comment's to my collection but it be nice to have multiple or tagged wishlists.

I currently have alot on my wishlist just for Xmas. Alot of figures I already have but wouldn't mind getting another while at the same time I've no interest personally purchasing because I do already have them.

Hmm, the wishlist part of it is a little tricker. What if instead of tags, you could just re-order into the priority you want, kind of like with your Netflix queue?

Anyway, I do quite like the tags idea, but Engledogg and SoS will destroy me if I get distracted by something like this when I still have the site expansion to finish up, so I'm going to have to put it off a bit.

In all fairness, I did say 'easy' in context to some of my other ideas :). But in truth, I did think you were a super nuclear-powered coding machine sent back from the future.

For my purposes, giving a priority to them, wouldn't work too well for me, since I'm looking for something like "Must Have", your "Holy Grail", your "only on Super-Sale".  Labels are fine too, but simple 'categories' sounded easier, which is why I suggested it.

Interesting. I guess I could add a tagging widget to the wishlist view. I'll give it a good mullin'...
