How are the appraisal prices gathered? I have the 7-1 ROTF The Fallen Slurpee Straw. It says its worth is $31, uhm its a straw. Just wondered how those prices are coming about.

Probably just a bug--there are still a few kinks in the new appraisal code. Looking into it, now...

Which ED are you blaming?

Erectile Dysfunction?  That could explain why one 'straw' isn't worth as much as others.  ;)

It was indeed just some bad code. Fixed, along with a few other little problems. You may rest assured that your Slurpee straws are once again worthless. Enjoy!

When you're looking at your collection on Shmax and it says "Current value unknown" does that mean that figure is not counted in the "Your total collection is worth: $." Part of the fun facts section? Because alot of my collection is "current value unknown" and was curious if that's why my total worth doesn't seem like as much as it should be.

Well, if we don't know a value for it, then no, we don't add anything to the total value. One of these days I'll revisit some of that stuff and see if I can show where the gaps are--something like "Of the 200 toys in your collection, we have appraisal data for 150 of them". Or something. Nothing obvious occurred to me the first time around, but if you have any ideas how to handle this, please speak up.

One fairly easy feature I'll probably get to soon is the idea of using the "price paid" values entered by users to supplement the appraisal system. Once I have that, then you'll be able to flesh out those "Current value unknown" figures yourself by simply typing in what you paid. Then your "current value" figure will be that much more accurate. I've been putting that off forever--I'll get on it soon.

oh cool.

Yeah wish I had some ideas for you, but you're the programming wiz, not me. Come to me when you have questions on music theory and chord theory and I can help you, lol.
