Suggested add/change for Generation 1 Skids

I was going to catalog my G1 Skids and did some closer checking for him in this category:

North America > Generation 1 > Cars > Assortment 2 (no rubsign)

This is the Product Code/Assortment # provided for the record: 5762E / 5765. The picture provided in package actually has this one on its front when you take a closer look: 5762E / 5750

The one I have has the 5762E / 5765, but it does have the rubsign.  I can't confirm that there actually is a Skids withOUT rubsign, but if it did it is likely the 5750 would be appropriate.

Using your better judgement, I suggest changing the product code to 5750 on the current record. Then a new one for the Skids with rubsign reflecting the product code of 5765 can be added.

As far as the 5750 assortment number that you spotted on the Skids package pic goes, 5750 actually corresponds to the first assortment of Autobot Cars, which was released in 1984.

This is very interesting in that Skids is usually considered to be a 1985 release, being part of Assortment 2, which would have the 5765 assortment number.  I, like you, also have a Skids box that has the 5765 assortment number.

But, what about the 5750 seen on the box pic?  That would make him a 1984 release, as all other cars with this number were part of assortment 1.

Poking around on the Net, I came up with this interesting bit of information:

So, the information contained in the above article, combined with the box pic showing the 5750 assortment number for Skids, gives evidence that Skids was ACTUALLY A 1984 RELEASE.  So, that must mean there should be at least a few non-rubsign Skids figures floating around out there.
