Usually, when i select a sub-series like this:
http://shmax.com/results/2549?browse=0& ... n%20series

It will show the completion of that particular series, taking into consideration the entire tree back from which it came. However, this shows (on the lower right) that some users have acquired 6/6 toys, but there are only 4 in the selection! Where are the other two coming from, the Europe section?

Yeah, that's gotta be where those extra two are coming from.

Because if you just browse to the Scan Series section:

http://shmax.com/database/2639?browse=0

the count is correct.

Yes, the "top collectors" portlet does not currently know about the search you did, it's just reporting the numbers for category id 2549, which is  http://shmax.com/database/2549. That may be a bit counter-intuitive. Would it be better to not show Top Collectors when doing searches like that?

Oh btw, the other "two" aren't from Europe. It is counting "Toys R Us" and not "Mission Earth" or "The Scan Series" even tho the search results only have "Scan series" selected on the right. The number is correct if you keep clicking down the tree:
http://shmax.com/results/2639?browse=0& ... n%20series

because the ID for what you think you have selected on the left is then correct, instead of it actually being the parent ID.

Anyways, I like to see the collector box there. But in this example, the title does say "Toys R Us" even though the selection is Toys R Us (4), but that "4" is only there because of the search term.

Probably best not to show it at all.  Adjusting the stats with query terms would just be prohibitive performance wise.

Ah ok, so it isn't reflecting relative data when a search is done and it would be too intensive to make it do that. So you can hide it from search results but can it still show up when using the standard browse feature?

yep, we can choose the top collector portlet is shown to get the desired effect.

Could be a condition as simple as not showing it where there is a search term.
