I was poking through one of those "plz identify" threads on tfw2005 and failed to identify the missile as belonging to Animated Leader Megatron. I never stood a chance, because our photo of that missile looks like this:

Whereas the real thing apparently looks like this:

Is our photo squashed, or mis-assigned, or otherwise wonky?

I think the red one is the shadow blade version (see the shared mold section in the link you provided). I currently don't have the figure in front of me to double check.

There are only three versions of that missile - the U.S. Megatron, the U.S. Shadow Blade Megatron, and the Japanese Megatron.

I think the color on the Shadow Blade Megatron's missile is a bit more purplish, as HP has it pictured, so that one is out.

The missile in question *could* be the Japanese Megatron missile (it may be more of a deep red like in that second pic, but I'm not sure as I don't own the figure), but the more I look at it, the picture we have for the missile is likely just a little too "orange".  Some cameras don't pick up reds too well.

Well, I was willing to write the color off as being poor camera handling, but aren't the proportions all goofy? The real thing is long and slender, and ours is short and stubby. Won't people point and laugh?

Hey Highprime, you have this toy, don't you? Do you still have the missile around somewhere? Are you going to sit idly by while this photographic outrage goes uncorrected?
