First I'll define that the website and the forums are 2 separate entities.  There doesn't seem to be a Member Directory or Member Search function on the website.

I bring it up because there have been posts where I've wanted to look at the users collection and can't figure out how too.

Maybe adding a link to a users collection on the forum profile page would be the simplest solution for me.

I know alot of us are using the Dynamic Signature but the one I'm using here doesn't provide a link to my collection when clicked. (I use the .gif one on seibertron.com and it is clickable to my collection.)

It seems that the super cool flash one should be, when you mouse over some of the titles they turn to the finger like they are supposed to take you somewhere but they do not. (FFox and Chrome... [im actually at my PC today]) So maybe checking that all the Dynamic Signatures will take you to the collection would also solve this issue for me.

Or maybe a Member Directory on the website. I'll click on one of the top collectors and their website profile will come up with a link to their collection but the only other way i've found to see someone's collection besides that and the signature is to click on #users bought on an items page and then selecting a user from that list.

So maybe a few bugs/requests. Not a top priority to me but I just wanted to get it tossed into the hat.

This trick will work for instances like you mentioned (looking at a user's forum post and wanting to see that person's collection).

Hover over their name and it'll give you address of their profile.  For example, hovering over your name in your post, Antron, I see http://www.shmax.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=2549.  Take note of the digits at the end (as that's the user's id number), and then head over to your "View Collection" page.  From here, just plug those last digits after "http://www.shmax.com/view_collection/1/" and hit enter.

http://www.shmax.com/view_collection/1/2549

Alternatively, go to the member directory on the forum side:

http://www.shmax.com/forum/index.php?action=mlist

Find the user's collection you want to see, hover over the name, get the last digits, and plug 'em into your View Collection link.

I'm sure shmax has something cooked up involving the Profile page that will make this a lot quicker in the future.

I had made a similar request a while back, to give users the option of adding a direct link to their collection or wantlist from the forum profile page, or maybe as a link/image on the forum post box. You know it shouldn't be very hard. Maybe if I can remember I might even be able to write an SMF "mod" to accomplish something like that.

Thanks for the tip. :)

Can you believe this feature still doesn't exist? Like Engledogg says, I've been waiting to finish the new profile page before really addressing this, but in the meantime, there's always this:

http://www.shmax.com/collectors

You can get to here by clicking on the "num collected" value on any product details page and removing the "sku_id" from the url.

And as Trip suggests, eventually I'll modify the forum pages such that profile links go to the new page instead of the forum's profile page (Antron is 100% right that the website and forums are two separate entities).
