Was the old one two toned like this one is now? I don't remember. Turning it all to the lighter shade of gray should get the size down. I don't know by how much but I do know the lighter the colors, the smaller the file.

This is a shame because I really like the new sig pic. :'(

gifs use Lempel-Ziv-Welch compression, which works best when the same sequence of bytes occurs over and over in an image (so they can be indexed in a dictionary). The old gif had big swaths of highly-compressible uninterrupted gray, and everything was puppies and rainbows until I decided to throw the fancier logo and the embossed fist graphic on there.

The embossed logo is such a nice touch. You obviously are a fan of the K.I.S.S. methodology. It's almost mind blowing how that rule applies to almost every form of art.
