I have a little update on this for you. I still haven't figured out how that item's appraisal data went stale, but while poking around I noticed a bug in the value computation code, which I've fixed. The next thing I did was flag all product records as "dirty", and set up an hourly task to refresh their appraisal data 1000 items at time. As of a few hours ago, all records have been recomputed. Finally, I've added an admin button for comparing cached appraisal data with data computed on the spot, which should let us know if there is a still a problem. I'll wait a few weeks, then press it and see what happens, but for now I'm going to close the issue in our tracker, and get back to the business of playing video games.
