Hey guys, be advised that the current beta version of google chrome has some trouble with javascript, so if you're using it none of the javascript-dependant features of <!-- m -->http://www.shmax.com<!-- m --> will work (such as the "Add to my collection" links. Most of you are probably just using the regular release version and have nothing to worry about, but for you bleeding edge types, be warned!

Hey Shmax,
I've been running the regular version of Chrome since the site did away with the "I Own It" check box and have had no problem until a few days ago. Now like what you're saying about the beta version isn't allowing the Javascripts to run I'm woundering if it's going to affect everyone running the regular version of Chrome? Is there anything we can do like change something in our settings so we can continue with the site???

You're having trouble with the regular version of Chrome?? Seems to work okay for me--can you please go ahead and verify that it's still broken? There were a few unrelated bugs today that were causing the collection system to not work, but those have been fixed. Thanks much!

still running the same for me, it's really noticeable when I click on edit my collection, everything appears with-out the bottom bar, it just has the click-able add to your collection. I click on that and nothing! I'm going to re-download the regular version off of Google and re-install it to see if that works. Did the Beta version work before and after the last up-date stopped working??? Because if so, I may have had the Beta version this whole time!!! Otherwise it's weird that it just stopped working for me within the last couple of days! I'll re-install and let you know what happen in the morning!

Please click on the wrench icon (upper right corner), then choose "About", and let me know what the version number is. I had the beta version for a while, and I believe you have to completely uninstall Chrome and then reinstall the regular version to get the downgrade to "take".

For what it's worth, I'm using Chrome version 1.0.154.53 and it's working fine for me.

I'm running the same thing: 1.0.154.53! Another weird thing is that every time I open chrome and go to the front page, I'm already logged in!! I even powered down my computer over-night, turned it on, opened chrome, typed in shmax.com, and I'm still logged-in! I'm not having this happen with other web-sites. Could it just be something wrong with my system???

Oh, by the way, I can add things and take away things from my wishlist just fine. It saves it, I can go to another site, come back, click on my wishlist and it's there. It just won't let me add anything to my collection or edit my collection!!!

Odd. Well, I'll have to work on it in the morning, as I'm pretty beat--but we'll need to get you sorted out as soon as possible. In the meantime, you might try uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome, for lack of a better idea. Don't worry about the logged-in thing--that's just the magic of cookies. If it bothers you just be sure to log out before you hit the sack.

Well, I un-installed Chrome, ran my virus and spy-ware scans, used win-doctor to check my system, defraged my system, ran disk clean-up, deleted all the cookies, powered down the system, re-installed Chrome, SAME PROBLEM!!!!! I just gave up and installed Internet Explorer 7 and it works fine to up-date my collection! Too bad I couldn't get Chrome to work, I was starting to like it better then IE7!!! Oh well!

Well if you're having this problem with Chrome chances are good that other folks are, too. Why not send me an IM through AOL Messenger, and we'll run some tests together and see if we can figure it out...

That was a little bug that I came up with earlier today. Should be fixed, now--sorry about that!
