I'm not entirely sure what the subject of today's photo is, but whatever it is it's currently my favorite toy in all the world. Why? Because this was the 3000th photo submitted for the September Photo Contest, courtesy of 800-lb photo-gorilla, Engledogg. What does this mean to you, the tireless shutterbug? It means that our grand prize,
Soundwave, has been ceremoniously tossed onto the pile of other prizes. It also means that with another big ticket item crowded in there, all of the minimum percentile scores for each of the other prizes have adjusted, such that the minimum qualifying score for one of the small prizes is now only a scant 171 points (between 53 and 86 photos), whereas before it was closer to 214. It does
not mean that the contest is over! There are still 12 days left, which is still plenty of time for miraculous things to happen, photo-wise. Engledogg could run out of toys, or be buried in an avalanche of them. Squallte could win an auction for 4 tons of miscellaneous missiles from eBay. Some new competitor that's been lurking in the shadows could suddenly appear with his collection of photos for
every mini-con ever made. Fortunes can change, folks. The fate of nations can shift. If you've been putting off getting involved, now is the time to put
that off and get busy!
