Hot Rod, from the Japanese line of Armada toys. At least I think it's Hot Rod--actually, who can say? The great thing about Japanese packaging is that you just never know--there's just way too much going on. Look at it: there's sort of a crazy red vapor flooding in from the left that swirls around and clashes with the glowing green weirdness coming in from the right. There are some vaguely robotic shapes looming in the mist, but unless you really know what you're looking for it could just as easily be a still from that scene in
Big Trouble in Little China where Egg Shen and David Lo Pan
duel with the pinky rings. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining--who can complain about a toy where the box is more entertaining than its contents?
