Okay, guys, I've successfully updated the forums, so please let me know if you're still having issues with logging in. Here's hoping...

As far as the skin thing, I had sent you a PM quite awhile ago.
Ah, you want to cook up a skin. Sure, let's see what you've got! SOS was complaining a while back that the stock skin looks kind of cheesy and dated; no argument, here. All I ask is that you do your best to make it match with the rest of the site's aesthetic, and not to get carried away with Autobot symbols and other specific toyline branding--we still intend to expand the site to other toylines.  Let me finish the upgrade, then we'll see about getting you set up for development. Thanks, Trip.
OK when you are ready, I'll probably need the entire prosilver folder zipped up.

For this and other reasons, I'm planning to tear out the current forum/user authentication system, and go with a single sign-on style system that will let you sign in with Facebook/Google/Twitter. I hope to get started this weekend, so please bear with me...

The expiry period (1 day) is hardcoded into the forum software.

That's cool.  Now to find out about exporting my data in case my user account gets deleted in the process ;-)

Ha ha, yes, that is a concern. But don't worry, everything gets backed up nightly. Worst-case scenario is I have to revert the changes and restore data. Worry not...

I just want to say thanks for fixing the persistent login. I always figured you guys had a reason for it being disabled and kept quiet. Good to know there was no good reason  ;D

Anyways, it's working great for me with Windows 7 x64 and Chrome. Thanks again!

No problem, glad you're diggin' it. Have you tried using any of the external providers to log in?

I have no idea what that means  :o

Oh, cool. I didn't realize that was an option these days. Can one link an existing Shmax account with one of those "external providers" options? Also, I must be getting old since I'd rather create a Shmax account than use credentials from somewhere else   :-*

One can, and one should. Give 'er a try, it's all fairly self-explanatory.
