Did it come with a tag, or baggie, or anything?
Nope, no packaging...given away just like as shown in the photo, as far as I know.
Well, I would definitely read that as "devastar", but the coin says "constructicon devastator" right on it.
Ah, so it still is "Devastar" for the Japanese releases of G1 Devastator...that's good to know. Nothing to change in the database, then.
As far as the coin goes, I'm betting the reason for "Devastator" (instead of "Devastar") on the coin is likely because Hasbro Asia handled the distribution of the Japanese Encore toy in Asia, so they used the "Hasbro" version of the name for the freebie coin. If it were intended for the Japanese market, it would have been "Devastar" and put out by TakaraTomy, but since it was for China, Hong Kong, and the rest of Asia, Hasbro handled it and used their name.
As to why they put "Constructicons" (with an "s") on the coin, they probably did that just to show that he's composed of the Constructicons.
Or, "Constructicons" is a typo and they meant to put "Constructicon Devastator", as that's his official name anymore (since they had to add "Constructicon" to the name as "Devastator" wasn't able to trademarked/copyrighted by itself).
I think we're good with just "Devastator Coin" for the product name, with the expanded devastar, etc. search terms covering all the bases.
