[RESOLVED]Sig GIFs yanked on TFW2005

Not a bug, but a concern.

Well it seems TFW2005 didn't appeciate the new dynamic signatures. Mine was removed at some point in the past 24 hours. Looks like a lot of signature got pulled while looking around the forums.

For the record, my dynamic signature is 72KB and the basic one is 42KB (as reported on the signature selection page). TFW rules say 40KB max. It seems like an archaic rule they have over there concerning the size but what do I know?

Oooh, same here. 

I got the dreaded "Sig pictures are to be no larger than 40KB in file size and should be no larger than 300 pixels in height and 500 pixels wide - 2005 Staff" message.

I guess that's my fault--I didn't stop to think what impact the new graphics would have on the file size. I'll do a little analysis tonight after work, and switch them back if need be.

when it is all fixed, you may want to throw up a news post for everyone else letting them know their sigs may have disappeared and that it is now all fixed... etc.

Was the old one two toned like this one is now? I don't remember. Turning it all to the lighter shade of gray should get the size down. I don't know by how much but I do know the lighter the colors, the smaller the file.

This is a shame because I really like the new sig pic. :'(

I was thinking that perhaps you can keep the current ones for boards that do let them (like Tformers) and then just make a "lite" version for picky sites like TFW2005. Maybe the "lite" version could replace the compact GIF (the one in my sig here)

Maybe also moving the fist in some and do some cropping on the right side.

You know what... I'm not sure how "advanced" the signature logic is, but it would be cool if we could have the dynamic GIF signature only use a certain page to display instead of everything. For those of us with fairly large collections, it just makes it bigger in file size because of all the pages it shows.

So for example, if I wanted my dynamic signature to only show the summary and the Japanese items or something, that should decrease the size. Ideally I'd like the summary and G1 items, but I'm not sure if that is something easily done.

?compact=1 after your signature link, it will only show your summary in the signature, and it is still over the limit.

I twiddled things a bit, and managed to get the "compact" gif size (see the "your dynamic sig" page) down to around 30k, so please feel free to restore them to their former glory.

Seems to be some alpha issues around the edges. Or is that just the price we're gonna have to pay? I'm not too pressed but I thought I'd mention it in case you'd been staring at the screen all day and night and day, and maybe missed it.

I'm seeing it as well. I'll stick with my Reissue Starscream sig for now. But I still leave the link in there.

Good eye, thanks. I cleaned the gunk out of the gutters, and it should look okay, now.
