Still don't stay logged in

I never stay logged into the site, even though I check the "Keep me logged in" checkbox when I sign in. If I close the window and reopen it, I have to log in again, every time. Is it my browser or the site?

Well, I downloaded IE8 and wasn't able to reproduce the problem, but I did do a little research and made one small adjustment to the cookie settings for the forum software I use. If that doesn't improve things for you any, try manually deleting the cookies that IE8 is using. Let me know what happens!

Looks like it worked. This is the first time I've visited the site without having to relog in.

cool deal man. I still log in each time but I think it's because I told my browser (firefox) not to 'remember', or to 'remember later' my username and such the very first time I signed in.

only takes a second to log in though.

As far as I know, yeah.

I use Firefox, have my settings as "as remember password" and I constantly have to "sign in". My browser has my info already saved so I don't have to keep typing the info, but every time I visit the site I have to click on the "log in" link in the top-right corner.

Shmax, IIRC I believe Mike has the same problem as well. I haven't spoken to him about this in a while.

I'm having this problem too, but it happens one of two ways.

1. I visit and I am not logged in
2. I visit and I am partially logged in. By that I mean it says "Welcome Tripredacus!" at the top right, but I still have the login/register options, and the View New Posts link isn't there. If I re-login, then I the login/register disappears and the View New Posts reappears. This happens at home and at work.

How exactly do you log in? With the "log in" link in the upper right of the site header, or do you use the forum login?

I haven't paid attention. Next time it happens I'll try the one in the menu instead of the forum.

I have tried both and I always have to login. It might keep me logged in for a visit or two, but it doesn't keep me logged in for any decent amount of time. It is a bit of an inconvenience.
