Default Date Bought?

Is there a way to change the default date that gets filled in the "Date Bought" fields to Today (i.e. the day the collection record gets created)?

It's frustrating now that my collection has gone from "set-up" to "maintenance" and I have to change every date for every entry I create.

Hmm, interesting. I'm actually in the process of redesigning the collection interface--how about a little pop-up calendar widget that has a "today" button you can click? Something like:

So it would still default to the release date, but you could set it to today with a single click. What do you think?

I like that better than having to set the Month, Day, and Year individually.

I don't like the fact that you have to click "Today", and THEN click on the highlighted day--would definitely be slicker if the selection could be made with a single click.

Another option would be to not do a popup, but just have the whole thing always visible, and get rid of the old drop-down widgets.

If I do that, AND modify the today button to work the way I describe, you could choose "Today" with a single click. What do you think?

A permanently visible calendar would be pretty cool, I think.

Single click is usually a good thing.  Works for me
