Never make a bar bet with Highprime. A few weeks ago we got a little carried away doing shots, and the conversation went like this:

Highprime: "I've got so many Transformers, it's ridiculous!"
Shmax: "Pfft. I'll bet you don't have that many. Do you even have Starscream?"
Highprime: "Are you kiddin'? I've probably got 50 versions of him; little, big, grey, black--"
Shmax:"I'll bet my entire My Little Pony collection that you don't have him in red!"

And then the other day this photo from him appeared in the queue. I, I don't know what to say. It's a picture of something called Starscream (Vardia Red Model). I was a little confused at first, as I had no idea what a "Vardia" is, but I looked it up and I've learned that Vardia is a neighborhood in Haifa, Israel. Actually I guess I'm still a little confused, but the important thing is that we learned a valuable lesson here, today: never go drinking with Highprime.

Thanks people, I appreciate it....  Enjoy while you can.. The end days are near.

I'm getting out of collecting; just about completely.  I'll keep a few TFs around, but I'm basically closing up shop.  Nothing bad is happening in my life...just time to move on.

You forgot to add, "just kidding"... right?

I would not sh*t my favorite turd.  I've just had enough of storing toys in brown boxes.

2006 Botcon box set is the first thing that has sold.

That is sooo sad to hear. Why don't you buy some beautiful large showcases that you can display your figures in? It will literally 'transform' your collection from something in boxes to a museum like feel. Definitely worth it! Try ebay and look for showcases in your area for dirt cheap. I would recommend getting the ones 7ft tall and like 6ft wide and 2+ feet in depth. You can store hundreds of transformers in each one. I would not recommend detolf's or horizontal showcases because the space/figure ratio isn't that large for a collector like yourself. Email me to discuss further...

Yeah, don't give up, man. You've got one of the highest-end collections I know of--it would be a shame to give up now, especially before we've implemented our new ranking system. Hang in there!

Wajo, yes you are right.  I do need some nice shelves.  For the pieces I'm keeping, will definitely seek you out for more information.

Shmaxy, that's part of the problem.  I'm collecting just for ranking status and not for the fun of it.  I broke through the top 10 and have steadfastly held #8.  Mission accomplished.  I suspect when all is said and done I'll settle somewhere between #150 - #300.
