Is the recent release at BBTS the same as this item (aka warehouse find)

or is it a new run of the figure? The packaging looks identical to me, but it appears the gold trim around Soundwave's tape deck is darker "gold" that the one pictured here, which looks more yellow-ish.

The figure should be indistinguishable from the U.S. version, I think...

Having said that, I don't think that they're warehouse finds...I know that the Asian market seen some stuff recently released that we got years ago (Commemorative Series Rodimus Prime, Side Swipe, this Soundwave and Optimus Prime)...maybe stuff that didn't sell the first time around and they just found a new venue in which to dump it?

80710 for the U.S. version...A0087 (I think) for the Asian market version.

This leads me to believe that those two (at least, can't say the same for Soundwave and Prime until package pics are shown) should be treated as separate records.  Different packaging, different item numbers...that's enough for me.

Yup, looking closer to the front of the box, there is a minor difference. The yellow Warning box in lower left corner has a black outline on mine that's not present on HighPrime's photo. the item number in the upper right is the same though.

Aslo, the small text on the lower back is in a slightly different font, the Hasbro logo has been updated, there's no 0-3 warning logo, and other minor things.

So, a new listing then? I'm not sure if it's BBTS only though, but from my quick searching it appears that way.

Can you take a couple quick pics (front and back) of your Soundwave?  That's what you're talking about in your above post, right?

Also, looking around on eBay, it seems there are some Soundwaves that have "Toys R Us Exclusive" stickers on them, as well.

Just in case anyone has any doubt, this should definitely be a new listing.  There are notable differences between this release and the original commemorative reissue.  Mine arrived from BBTS today and I've taken it out of the box.  Still using Soundblaster retool, but I've noticed the following:

Gold 'foil' paint around the tape deck is now more of a bronze-ish color.
Silver paint on face is glossier
Eyes are yellow - Doesn't have that greenish-tinge of past Hasbro releases as far as I can tell, but I'll need to double check again in different lighting.
Stickers are pre-applied - no label sheet included.
Tampographed "CE" on the back right just below head and above battery compartment.
22201 molded under battery compartment next to original copyright - same as imprinted on the box.
Tampographed "2012 Hasbro SA/Tomy Copyright " on underside of crotch.

**EDIT**
Probably biggest difference - Laserbeak's lasers have been child-proofed.  Shortened about 1/3".  So retool on this one.  You can see clearly in Spliff's photo above, even.

Looks like it's a general re-issue, Robot Kingdom now has them up for pre-order to release on Oct 16 for 49.90.

Update to this...there is a new bug involving parts (should only affect cloned parts), so for now, please hold off on doing anything with the parts involved with this record.  shmax will fix it up after work.
