This isn't going to work unless you include the variant description text field in that name. There are at least four Gobots, all in the same category, that are called Staks Transport. These have been in the db for quite some time...and now, when I try to accept the variant modifications made by KTD, I get the "At least one other product with this name and one of the countries you selected already exists in this category." error message. This phenomena also occurs in several other category and with some regularity, so any change to any other field/section will result in this error being tossed up and you can't proceed.
So, if we're sticking with this idea, then you're going to have to expand the name to include whatever is in the variant description text field.
