Figure it out Friday: October 2nd, 2009

There are no points and no prizes to be earned this month, but Hellscream333 is still submitting photos, which will earn him karma points, and possibly sainthood. I happened to notice this photo in his list, and decided to share it with you folks, but not because of its quality. Sure, it's a nice photo, but of what? Usually on "Figure it out Friday" I pick something that is definitely something, knowing full well that it can be easily identified with a simple shmax search (and this one can, too), but this time I really have no idea. So, the goal of today's game is not only to figure out which part it is, but what it is. We have it down as a "blade" at the moment, but to me it looks more like a little girl's barrette, or a switchblade comb that didn't come out right. Perhaps its the weapon of some kind of evil Decepticon barber-bot. Got a better suggestion? Let us know and we'll update the database!

Judging from the lack of chrome, I say it's Universe 2008 Tankor's Melee Blade! As far as re-naming it, I think "Claw Weapon" fits it better! However, Melee Blade works too. Reminds me of Renji's weapon "Zabimaru" from Bleach! Here's a pic:

Good grief, man, aren't we nerdy enough without bringing anime into it? But sure, "claw weapon" sounds pretty good to me. I suppose we could also just look it up in the instructions, but they don't really name the parts in the booklets anymore, do they?

I would actually say it's from Henkei Octane.  I like to think of it as the claw of doom.
