Stealth Force Inferno - pull tab packaging or accessory?

Stealth Force Inferno's red pull tab comes off - there's even instructions for how to do so on the bottom of the package. Is it an accessory, or part of the packaging? He's completely functional without it, and it seems like it's just something to enable people to play with it before buying, but it's included in the stock photos.

Also, he doesn't have an instruction booklet, and he has two missiles (but only space to store one, arrrrgh). I've tried to modify the package contents but that box has disappeared.

I would say that the pull tab isn't an accessory as most people would toss it after opening up the toy and could be considered to be part of the packaging.  

But then again, if someone were looking to buy this new or sealed and the tab isn't there...then that means it was a return or there was tampering involved...what do you think shmax?

No instruction booklet?  Weird...practically everything gets an instruction booklet these days, haha.  Two missiles as well...got it.  Turns out the other ones in the same size class also have two missiles...

I'll make those changes for you...I'm assuming that Gears and Megatron probably don't have booklets, either, since they're the same size class?

Also, since you love the emergency vehicles, be on the lookout out for Stealth Force Barricade...he's showing up in retail stores as well, now.

Hmm, well, I have to agree with you guys that it looks more like a gimmick of the packaging than a part of the toy. Then again, the same could be said for the tech spec decoder that came with all of those g1 toys, and we wouldn't dream of not including that. Or would we? In short, I'll leave it up to you guys. Maybe what we could do is sort of flag stuff like this as being outside the collection system, so we would have a record for it and you could see what it looks like, but it wouldn't appear in anyone's part checklist. Thoughts?

I'm cool either way, though my red pull-tab is in no shape to be photographed any more, as my cat got hold of it last night. It's now very well-chewed. Did Hasbro get the tab made in a catnip factory or something?

I would consider the red tab similar to those plastic tabs that prevent battery contact to avoid battery decay - just a packing accessory to help the toy within the package.

Anyway, where have you guys found inferno? I didn't even know he was released yet?

Walmart.  He seems to be one to a case.
